THE PROBLEM:

  • According to a CNBC Data Article, students nationwide grow up in households where conversations about money never occur.

  • This disparity is even more common in underserved communities where there is a lack of access to relatable financial literacy resources.

  • Underserved students often dream of becoming professional athletes as an avenue for a better way of life but lack the knowledge required to manage any income level for long-term financial stability, resulting in generational cycles of poverty.

THE SOLUTION:

Game-Style Financial Literacy Programs

OUR MOST POPULAR MODEL

4-hr Comprehensive Program

Session 1: The Game Plan ~ 1.5-hour

Students are introduced to essential financial concepts, deep dive into their finances, and create and commit to working towards a personalized financial goal.

Sessions 2 & 3: Game Time 2x 1-hr sessions

Students engage deeper with financial concepts, work individually and in small groups to apply concepts through various hands-on activities and check in with presenters on goal progress.

Session 4: Championship Celebration 1-hr session

Students share what they learned, are left with financial resources, and are celebrated with incentives for working towards and meeting their financial goals.

*This program spans over a semester or a school year to allow time for students to work on their goals. We offer programming in-person and virtually and can tailor the frequency of meetings and topics covered based on the student's needs.*

See the Curriculum page for more details and variations of programs offered.

Reviews from our Partners

“This program is exactly what student-athletes need to prepare them to make smart choices with their money. I’ve seen how quickly money comes and goes for many rookies making the transition into pro sports. Coming into the league knowing just the basics alone of money management puts players at a much greater advantage for long term success. I wish this program was around when I was in school.”

— DeAngelo Shears, Las Vegas Raiders Player Development

I've been working with Planned to A.T. for a little over a year now and they have exceeded my expectations in their growth and community impact! Ashley and Tiffany are incredibly passionate about making financial literacy fun, interactive, meaningful, and effective no matter their audience. They are always well prepared, and professional, and bring contagiously positive energy with them everywhere they go. Microsoft is thrilled to partner with Planned to A.T. to help enhance their financial literacy programs and create an even bigger impact in underserved communities!

— Darrell Booker, Microsoft Corporate Affairs Specialist

“Planned to A.T. is an amazing program that offers students experiential programming in a field that has been overlooked for many, that being Financial Literacy. After attending the sessions this summer our students have been provided with the opportunity to become one with the thing that we all adore, money. However, they have learned the importance of saving, the difference between wants and needs, and preparing a sustainable future with financial freedom.”

— Victor D. Chrispin Jr. , Director of Edward Waters University Black Male College Explorers Programs

“The City of Las Vegas appreciated the opportunity to be involved with the Financial Literacy Workshop facilitated by Planned to A.T. The professionalism and enthusiasm of the workshop facilitators contributed greatly to the success of the workshop. We appreciated the enthusiasm of the students who participated as we hope they will consider a career in local government in the future. Financial literacy is among the mix kills that make a candidate for a position with the city attractive to us.”

— Don Jacobson, City of Las Vegas Enterprise Project Manager

“Planned to A.T. is amazing at what they do with financial literacy. They are some of the best at what they do. They connect with high energy for their kids and they can customize their curriculum to be exactly what we need for kids in our community! They reach kids where they are and flip their perspective from money being a stressor for some kids and help it be seen as a tool to get to where they want to go.”

— Alec Ingold, Miami Dolphins Fullback

“Planned to A.T. is a curriculum that should be taught in every high school. The information provided in the sessions is given in a way kids can easily process, and can be applied in their everyday lives immediately. It’s never too early to teach the children of our future about financial literacy, and Planned to A.T. does a great job in getting done.”

— Ryan Stamper, Jacksonville Jaguars Director of Player Assessment
